On Thursday 23 October 2014 the NHS Safety Thermometer ‘Classic’ Summit and ‘Next Generation’ Launch will take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London. The event have a theme of ‘Safety in Numbers’ and will feature an array of fantastic speakers and during the day attendees will:
- explore the learning from Safety Thermometer data
- share learning from others who are making improvement in delivering ‘harm free’ care
- witness the launch of the Patient Safety Briefing animation
- network with others aiming to deliver ‘harm free’ care

Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt MP, will be launching the Patient Safety Briefing film which is being supported by the national Sign up to Safety campaign. The ‘airline style’ safety advice animation will be available to patients across the country and gives simple safety advice on areas such as falls prevention, pressure ulcer avoidance and medicine safety. It will be available to view on harmfreecare.org once launched at the summit.
The Patient Safety Briefing has been developed by our partners Haelo, an innovation and improvement centre in Salford, in partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.
